Researchers can test their dialogue theories by replacing one or more of the compoent variables: the dialogue model, the strategy and knowledge base component. Our current work involves simplify the system for Informal Logic researchers to use it to assess their dialogue models and strategies.
The program is written in the Java programming language. You can download the correspondent file from below, and save as .jar file in your computer space. After you download them, double click on the *.jar file. You need to make sure you have JDK 1.4 or later installed on your computer.
To start a debate simulation session, Click File→New Game, one agent will ask another agent "Is it the case that capital punishment is acceptable?", depending on the answer, the initiator adopts the opposite view. The two agents then take turns and engage in the debate. We abbreviate one agent as S and the another as C.
